easter holiday

so i have quite alot to do, just ppd, enterprise and generally things oh and the new project of course. well week one off...... done. i have earned some money...... got my blog up to date

and i have started printing off all of the job applications which has taken forever, i don't mind so much that none wants me but i am annoyed that i twisted and changed most of the covering letter to suit the applications.

on the plus side i am going to London this week to see chikky, and to buy some fabrics, i need to make a dress and a few tops...well i don't need to make them i want to make them!
i think going to London to do fabric sourcing will be brilliant as when i start back in September i am going to need to have an idea about what i can get!

last week before easter monday 22nd

so all weekend since the hand in monday last chance tof the applied fashion module i have been nailing my essay. and i think its going quite weell, i did intend on starting it last week but given the situation i obviously didn't. never mins i am getting it done

so i thought going into college at 10-30 would be plenty early enough to sort through a few sources and changing bits to make the presentation of my essay perfect but 5 hours later i still wasnt finished! ahhh! mind you i handed it in so i dont care anymore! oh and i had my meeting with Gemma about applied fashion, well surprise surprise its not going to be a first which really annoyed me, but i had gone past caring at this point. it doesnt bother me, i had much bigger things on my mind. im just annoyed that people dont get at least one day extensions, especially if you have to take time off for a funeral during term time. i appreciate that i should have been more prepared but grr its just annoying.

wednesday ppd meeting with Gemma, final chance we get to talk to her about it before we have the hand in after easter, so much to do im really annoyed that people dont e-mail back even to say that placement positions have been filled!

friday is the briefing for the new project...... yay......this one is going to be more self administered. so hopefully it will go well as i know i can keep on top of it, but being able to decide what i do means i have to decide, which is going to be the tricky part.

15th march

this week will be hectic, i have so much work to do, taking a few days off for the funeral was the right thing to do, and i don't want an extension as ill just have to get an extension for the essay i was supposed to start this week! hand in is on Wednesday.... so i still have time to make things better and finish bits and pieces. i just feel like giving up.

this is my final line up....... i know its not the best the but i did it the day before, and i had some serious issues with the illustrations.

so i handed it in today, and did the presentation, it went ok, but as usual, i screwed up with the presentation. i really need to get out of relying on a script to read. i know i should have put more effort into the project...and well the entire thing really but its too late now.

i was reasonably happy with my trend book, but i wish i had thought about it more, it could have been so much better. and my initial research really let me down! never mind, these are thing i will have to work on for my next project.

monday 8th march

my group SWAPSIE DAISY had a meeting with Angie, and it went really, really well, she basically told us that for our final presentations with Bridget we would just need to check everything, find evidence and then do the presentation! yay! i think as a group we just need to fine tune a few things.

Tuesday tom dealing with queries..... one week before our hand-ins and we do not have enough time to be fannying about with doing an essay that we have been told we have a week off (5 days) to do. so in a bid to get things done that need to be done before i am going to concentrate on my project (finally).

right i need to make my trend book finished i have most of the stuff but because of the fabrics i have used in my book, it is going to be quite difficult to bind, i know this project is not going to be my best project at all. but as long as i pass with a reasonably high mark, I'm not particularly bothered.

Thursday was just finishing off little bits. seeing as the presentation is quite alot of marks is ts supposed to be something we spend alot of time on. i know i could make it really good adding videos and music as we did with the initial miu miu presentation but i don't know how to and i don't have the time. i refuse to spend all night getting things done a couple of days before. its just not worth the worry lines.

Friday at college is supposed to be about presentation planning, and the presentation is the last thing on my mind- funeral.

monday 1st march

still doing applied fashion- its official i hate applied fashion right now. it just not going the way i want it too, everything seems to be going wrong. i need to do some initial design work for my 10 trend shapes thingy. these are some of my design ideas-main shapes.

Tue critical essay proposal form due in (then changed) so we don't have to hand it in on time.
Wednesday was the development of the trend book, I'm starting to worry about this project. i know its not going to go very well and personal stuff is not helping.

so personal stuff took over and i needed a few days off school. and guess what you can take a day off for a funeral, but you don't automatically get a one day extension. i need to do trend stuff and have all my trend book done soon, I'm going to make them up on photo-shop.

im goign to have to do some work over the weekend. i have 2 weeks until hand in and i have not done anything that i like.

monday 22nd february

9-10-30 enterprise.

3.15 crit ahhhhh one month until essay hand in. i have almost picked my title.

Wednesday- an applied fashion meeting with gemma in groups, i still haven't really done much so there is not much to say. i have not been in the mood at all the only part of the project i don't mind doing is the shop report. i just think that we are cutting and sticking all the time, and its boring, i didn't want a degree in cutting and sticking.

Friday trend visual development silhouette direction flats. By now i am supposed to have done my research and began making my inspirational flats '10' with front and back but i am only just starting the research to get round cutting and sticking i am doing pretty much everything in photo-shop. that way i can pick twist and move stuff which will make it easier and quicker to put together hopefully.

reading week--- monday 15th

so much for a reading week
so far during my 'week off' i have sent out so many e-mails and covering letters its ridiculous!
i was supposed to have a meeting with Steve smith and nyah to talk about the fashion show on the Monday but unfortunately he had to cancel (he cancelled after i had set off once i was almost back in Leeds-yes i drove all the way back just for the meeting) so instead of seeing him i cleaned my house kitchen....with desperately needed doing! it was gross!

Tuesday...... send of more cv's joy of joys.....

Wednesday was the next meeting nyah had organised with him, but i couldn't drive up again. so i missed the meeting and by the looks of things i would have found it really interesting. we set up a meeting for everyone to find out and talk about the fashion show and now it seems that myself and Jeni have told a few things wrong and got things a bit muddled. so to solve this problem sue is going to have a meeting with everyone thank god! I'm really glad about this because it turns out we didn't need to set up the bank account, so jenny and i didn't need to bother with that! gr! i don't understand why they didn't just do this in the first place!

never mind. I ordered a new camera this week so i can finally do my reiss shop report properly.....i ordered new inks for my printer and they have got lost in the post, so even though i want to work I'm a little stuck. i can only do my computer based work, and guess what. my laptop broke on Wednesday so now I'm dads (whilst hes out) I'm glad I'm such a super geek and that i saved everything o a portable hard drive otherwise id be screwed. and i hate falling behind with work, i know it ll just pile up....... and i cant handle that.

cooked dinner for Harry's rents as they came back from there 6 weeks away yesterday and now Harry's going away...sad times. but at least i don't have to worry about him wanting to come see me. i'm going back up to Leeds on Saturday as stew is coming to fix my laptop tonight! good times. i don't know what I'm going to do without it if he cant fix it. sad times!

monday 8th feb

Enterprise lecture- fun as always i just need to keep my notes up to date and typed up...fashion show meeting with everyone did not go well. surprisingly people were quite cynical and it really was not needed considering that they hadn't gone out of there way to organise the meeting, gr.

3.15- well tom was in a perfectly foul mood today. we have begun choosing our titles for our essay today. i know pretty much what I'm going to write about. underwear fashion and feminism. i need to get it checked through with tom but i can start researching it now as the basics of fashion and feminism are fundamentally the same.

begin applied fashion trend cycle research and shop report research- i really cannot be bothered today.

we have a meeting with one of the mac geeks to go through and learn illustrator with on Friday, we have heard what the Thursday group said and apparently I'm going to fall asleep.

monday 1st feb

we had our enterprise presentation today - it went really well. i was happy with everything that our group did! we have a few things to sort out. a few more things we have to sort and finalise such as how expensive certain stuff will be abd double check prices but we are within our budget and its all going well!
well our hand in was supposed to be on wednesday..... but thanks to the third year and the first years and the second years all being scheduled in at the same time to use the sewing machines we managed to get an extra day. we cant be expected to use the college sewing machines only in the evenings seeing as most of the 1st years are in there anyway.


i handed everything in and im really happy with it. review tomorrow.

gemma 1-45. went really really well im so happy with it. i spent enough time doing everything i concentrated on the time limits looked at the mark scheme and yay! i got a first!

tailoring brief continued......monday 18th jan

mon-fabric shopping at dewsbury is always fun! i think i have got some really good fabircs for my project. we were there for hours.... ive got some purple suede, really good to work with as it doesnt shift about. it'll be quite hard to sew as it'll be thick but it'll work well. i also purchsed some really fine cotton which is perfct as im designing for spring summer, and the floral fabric i bought is quite thick, so it'll be able to give stuructre to what i make.

critical studies on a tuesday is always fun, im slowly getting into although it doesnt always make much sense and i just find myself argueing with tom.

we were speaking to gemma about our ppd portfolio, which i need to get done, but i dont understand why we would sort it out yet as our hand in is not for another couple of months and our work will (should) have improved by then so we would only be re-doing it anyway.



thursday and friday we were designing im really happy that i am up-to-date with this project i think its goignt o go really well. working a little through christmas really got me in the mood for it.

final design for my waistcoat..... im going to use the beige cotton at the back...the suede for the collar and the floral fabirc to do along side the collar and down the back

mondY 25TH
Enterprise as alwasy is thrilling, it can be really good at times, and then sometimes its just boring and unnecesary some of the things we are told about just bore us. the swapsie daisy group is working really well, we always seem to get everything done we all put the work in. it just works well. and seeing as between the four of us we only live in 2 different places it makes life much simpler.

tuesday my tutorial with tom........ i really need to ge the long question done. i cannot for the life of me remeber what it is now, but its possibly the words weirdest text and its going to take me forever to turn into a small paragraph.
proposal form- for my essay needs to be done too. ahhhhh. i know i can get it done i plan on doing something underwear and fashion based.
thursady and friday was retro revival again- im really happy with this project. it couldnr be going better. i have been making my garment and during mon-wed i did the plans, and sorted everything out, so i just need to make my waistcoat. i think my technical file will be good. i think the technical file is going really well. i have managed to make a very simple step by step instruction manual wihch is 30% of my grade so hopefully i will do well.

back in leeds baby!

im not going to lie....its been a while and so much has happened.

so over the christmas period i did type up all of my enterprise notes and i have kept on top of them! i started typing up my critical studies notes and i now take my laptop into lesson so i dont have to re-type them. which saves me time and effort! :-)

im so glad i made a start on my christmas project doign the shop reports really made sure i was on time with everything and i did not fall behind.

christmas- so much to do and 4 days to do it in, all my christmas shopping sort out and get stuff for my next project. write up the critical studies and enterprise notes into word. wgsn info. do everything else! sort our getting a placement. apart form that. enjoy christmas.

wednesday 16th hand in day

mission accomplished hand in done. work finished. I'm quite pleased once i bound it yesterday i found that i actually had more good stuff than i thought. as suggested by Angie taking out the crap makes it look far more professional. I'm really happy with what i have done and i hope i get a grade tomorrow that reflects that. then the briefing for the next project. its all been a bit hectic. we have had this brief with gemma and its called retro revival. we had it straight after our hand in. it looks quite interesting and i think i will be able to make a reasonably good start on it without seeing anyone over Christmas. more shop reports. joy! we have to to it for s/s 2011 so i need to get all of the information from WGSN otherwise my work and the beginning of my design work and ideas will be limited.

Thursday- meeting with sue about my work handed in yesterday I'm shocked at how quickly the turn around is for the next project. its a bit of an insult to the amount we have done when it only takes 5 minutes to look through everything and then they sort of give you a grade or at least have one in their mind for when they do mark it.
looking at my feedback sheet after my little chat with sue, she was really happy with the work i had done so I'm pleased, and i can now get on and think about the next project.

monday 14th-hand in 2 days

1.45 feedback about the enterprise thing with Angie, yes it went well. she said so herself. yep she only ticked a few boxes. great yes! we still need to check on a few things as we said and with our small budget of 3,000 i have managed to cut a few cuts since the meeting so we can add that back into our budget. good times. so tomorrow critical studies with tom, and then only one day left until hand in. argh. mind you its only ten credits. i havent got much left to do but as always on the night i will re-read the brief again and again and ill pick up on something i have missed.
